Marina State Beach
As a relaxing, family-friendly destination, Marina State Beach has a public beach and park which is fun for all ages. This beach sits below high, rugged dunes where many hang-gliders launch off from. There is a sandy boardwalk and interpretive trail through the dunes to explore as well.
Moss Landing State Beach
Located just north of the Moss Landing Harbor Channel, Moss Landing State Beach has a long sandy beach with its parking lot having a great spot to launch kayaks. This beach is known for fishing, surfing, kayaking, birding and wildlife watching.
Salinas River State Beach
This is a popular destination for birdwatching, horseback riding and fishing. There is also a dune trail and picnic area to take in more of the beach. The beach itself is located on a strip of land between the Old Salinas River and the Pacific Ocean.
Sand City Beach
Much of the land around Sand City Beach has been designated as the Eolian Dunes Preserve. To get to the beach, you can walk on the paved Monterey Bay Coastal Trail. Leashed pets are welcomed here.
