2019 Toyota Corolla Hatchback release date and new features
In recent years, we’ve seen the hatchback model type make a serious resurgence to the forefront of the American market. Functionality and smart performance is a hallmark of most (if not all) hatches throughout history, and with beautiful exterior design cues making a return to the type, there’s never been a better time to capitalize on the renewed consumer interest. At the New York International Auto Show, Toyota unveiled the newest member of its family, and we invite you to check out the 2019 Toyota Corolla Hatchback release date and new features to see what we mean!
2019 Toyota Corolla performance and design features
Obviously, with a new body style comes a healthy amount of innovation to boot. The 2019 Corolla has been constructed on Toyota’s New Global Architecture (TNGA) platform, leaving it lower, wider and longer than its predecessors. Forward visibility is also increased by a lower-profile hood, and LED headlights and taillights onboard help to usher in feelings of adrenaline and raw confidence whenever you’re ready to go.
Speaking of which, the 2019 Corolla has introduced a new engine (in the form of a 2.0-liter Dynamic Force) that combines with an intelligent rev-matching manual transmission – or Dynamic Shift-CVT – to give you unprecedented responsiveness on the road. Though official horsepower and torque ratings have yet to be released, there’s no doubt that the 2019 Corolla will be sure to please and, perhaps most importantly, be a blast to drive.
2019 Toyota Corolla technology and safety features
A few awesome new tech innovations have made their way inside the all-new Corolla Hatchback, notably wireless smartphone charging and Apple Watch® compatibility! The latter of these two helps you lock, unlock and start your Corolla right from your wrist, keeping you more connected to it than ever before. In addition, the new Corolla will introduce some awesome new safety innovations as part of Toyota Safety Sense 2.0. Some highlights include:
- Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection
- Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control
- Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist
- Automatic High Beam
- Lane Tracing Assist (New for 2019)
- Road Sign Assist (Also New for 2019)
