2019 Toyota Corolla Hatchback Power Ratings and Engine Upgrades
A month ago, we introduced you to the all-new Toyota Corolla Hatchback, a new, updated and improved take on the body styling that has captivated so many drivers across the nation. We teased its overall performance a little bit, but with new developments out of the Toyota camp, we can finally show you all that this incoming hot hatch will be capable of. Come with our Salinas Toyota team today as we check out the 2019 Toyota Corolla Hatchback Power Ratings and Engine Upgrades!
2019 Toyota Corolla Hatchback Horsepower and Torque Output
Keeping with the Corolla Hatchback’s bread-and-butter of being fun to drive, it’s been outfitted with a 2.0-liter Dynamic Force Inline 4 engine that’s both smaller and stronger than its 1.8-liter predecessor. This helps to optimize the hatchback’s center of gravity, and it also utilizes high-pressure direct injection to ensure that you’re getting the most out of every drop of fuel.
Overall, this engine can produce up to 168 horsepower and 151 pound-feet of torque, which makes it perfect for when you see that open stretch of road and want to take full advantage. Glorious, right?
Toyota Corolla Dynamic Force Engine Features and Transmission Options
The Dynamic Force engine built into the Corolla Hatchback comes loaded with some significant improvements, chief among them round-top pistons, enhanced lubrication ability and a timing chain that weighs in much less than in years past. These all help to keep the drive quieter, reduce knocking, and increase efficiency.
Speaking of better performance, the 2019 Corolla will feature two available transmission options, in the form of either a 10-speed Sequential Dynamic-Shift CVT or a six-speed iMT (Intelligent Manual Transmission). No matter what your choice, it’s easy to take control over the road in ways that you never thought probable.
